One third-grade teacher actually gave my son an "award" for "loarning me his wartch."<br />i.e. "loaning me his watch."<br />The quality of education in public schools in my upper middle class town with high property taxes was abysmal. There seemed to be a lot of busywork and much time wasted on assemblies featuring athletes and entertainers and not enough time spent teaching the basics of reading, writing and arithmetic. <br />The instruction in the private school that we chose for our children was much better. My eldest son won a full academic scholarship to an ivy league college and his sisters are doing very well in grades six and ten. Yes, their text messages are full of abbreviations and teen slang but they're able to express themselves beautifully when they need to and their friends are all good, conscientious kids.<br />I'd say your son needs to show that he can be trusted before he gets any of those privileges that he's lobbying for. He must have been disappointed to find out that you're on to his game.Miz Kizzlehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05650747741395559803noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3852422397272068136.post-22465532105177222862009-05-15T17:49:00.000-05:002009-05-15T17:49:00.000-05:00Definitely amazing!

My 4th grader gets all A's and B's but can't write 3 sentences coherently and was "graduated" from speech services even though most of us cannot understand half of what he says!Dia por Diahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08779572435008177679noreply@blogger.com
