This blog is my place to vent and share resources with other parents of children of trauma. I try to be open and honest about my feelings in order to help others know they are not alone. Therapeutic parenting of adopted teenagers with RAD and other severe mental illnesses and issues (plus "neurotypical" teens) , is not easy, and there are time when I say what I feel... at the moment. We're all human!

Missing Teen

This mom is a dear friend of mine.

Please read blow. If you see Jesse or someone meeting his description, please call the police right away.

I am sending you this information so if anyone here sees my son you can call the police in your area to report information. Please pass this on to everyone in your address book that you feel could help. The more I can get this out the chances of finding my child will increase.
His name is Jesse McCarthy, he is only 15 years old.

He went missing from 200 Zachary Rd. in Manchester, NH on June 26, 2011 at around 4pm
Most likely he will be in Manchester NH or Concord, NH, but this is only a guess. He could be anywhere, which is why I am searching out beyond there.

He has very short brown hair, brown eyes, fair complexion.
About 5' 9" and weighs about 130 lbs.
He may be traveling w/a girl his age or a man in his late 30's who is very thin, about 5' 9" brown eyes, shaved head and sometimes wearing a baseball cap. This man has tattoos all up and down both arms.

The Manchester, NH phone # for the police dept is (603) 668-8711
The Concord, NH phone # for the police dept is (603) 225-0860

Please, if anyone can help please do. I am petrified and so scared. Finding him is the ultimate goal!

I would suggest this mom reach out to RHY (runaway/homeless youth) programs in her area and give them the information she shared here.

Does your area have a safe place network? I posted this info on my facebook and will forward it to the RHY programs in my area (Raleigh NC). I hope he's not too far from home and makes it back safe. Prayers for this family.

She said she's contacted the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, but when I looked on their website I didn't find his name. I posted on my Facebook page too, but I don't have a lot of friends yet.

If he is in DCYF/DJJS system they have to inform an administrator and he will be tracked internally as well. While the police don't always make finding runaways a priority I know that the workers involved will be making efforts on a daily basis. I am at that facility often and will be keeping an ear out for any info.

Boy, I'd forgotten what a truely horrible feeling it is to have a teen runaway. If the feelings I just had surge back were anything like what I really lived through, no wonder Mr P is still suffering from the effects of too much (prenatal) stress. My 16-year-old was gone for only 7 days, and after 3 I'd made contact with a friend of his who assured me he was OK, so I only had 3 days of that pure hell to live through. My son was still in my neighborhood, sleeping in bathtubs and under bushes. I pray hers is still close to home.
